Fantastic optic. Very clear and sharp glass. Reticle is awsome. Very tough housing. Eye piece focus very useful for making etched reticle super sharp. Just love it for the price. I’m an optic snob, and this thing rocks. I actually think I like it better than my MRO. It’s essentially a zero powered Acog. The only things I don’t love is the mount. While it’s very versatile, it just has too many pieces and don’t care for the look at all. But easily fixed because it uses the industry standard mini Acog mount. Put it in an ADM high mount, and it’s perfect. I’d say a must.

The optic is everything I expected after reading reviews and watching videos about it. Five stars for the SLX 1 w/green recticle.
The real story here is about McKenzie Optics excellent customer service. After waiting for months for this product to be restocked, I was sent an email letting me know a shipment had arrived (as promised after signing up to be alerted).
It was on Friday July 2 and I had ordered late in the afternoon, probably 3pm or so. Now, I had read the shipping rules and I had no reasonable expectation that my package should be shipped any earlier than Tuesday July 5.
Well, Tuesday rolls around and to my surprise, the tracking showed the package out for delivery. I do live within 100 miles of Cartersville, but for the package to have arrived when it did someone went above and beyond. For this reason, when it’s toy time, the Mckenzie Optics website will be my go to default before any other. Thanks.

As someone who has owned multiple ACOG’s (TA44, TA33, TA02) and other higher end optics, I was a little nervous about trying a more “budget” option like this one from Primary Arms. Ultimately I wanted an LED mini ACOG, but since Trijicon refuses to make one, I figured I’d reward Primary Arms for doing the R&D and give one a try (green reticle version).

I’m pleasantly surprised. The build quality was better than I expected, the glass isn’t ACOG quality, but it’s honestly not THAT far off. I’m not a complete optics snob, so it hasn’t bothered me one bit. The reticle is super crisp and definitely daylight bright. It’s relatively lightweight and a super low profile. After reading reviews about compatibility, I’ve paired it with a 3x magnifier and have had great results. Makes this set up very versatile. Overall, I think it’s a winning combination on my MCX and would highly recommend it so far based on my first impressions.
