Proof Research 300 PRC Accuracy International Pre-Fit Carbon Fiber Barrel Chassis Systems bring ergonomic and functional benefits that are delivered with degrees of modularity and configurability that cannot be achieved with any traditional stock. AI pre fits are available for both 27 mm and 30 mm tenon sizes. Proof Research Pre Fit Accuracy International barrels are quick and easy to install on the AI platform and require no specialized gunsmithing. Their drop in barrels for the AI chassis come threaded and chambered in a variety of different lengths and twist rates.
Proof Research Carbon Fiber Rifle Barrel is much lighter, more durable, and accurate than traditional barrels. Carbon fiber not only reduces barrel weight by 50% or more but also increases the overall durability. Each barrel features the patented Caliber Matched Gas System (CAMGAS) which gives you a gas system that is tuned specifically for the cartridge and length of the barrel. The result is a recoil impulse that is noticeably softer, less fouling in the receiver, increased reliability of extraction, and less wear and tear on brass. This helps keep you on target and shooting while taking advantage of the latest high performance cartridges.
Why Carbon Fiber?
Carbon fiber has long been hailed across many industries such as aerospace, cycling, alternative energy. It is recognized as a wonder material that makes everything lighter and stronger. When employed in a rifle barrel the benefits extend beyond reducing weight and increasing strength. The Proof Research patented manufacturing process begins with full profile, match grade 416R stainless steel barrel blanks that are made in their firearms division. These blanks are then turned down to a significantly reduced profile greatly reducing weight. This reduced contour barrel is then wrapped with high strength, aerospace grade carbon fiber impregnated with a proprietary matrix resin. This Resin is developed by Proof Research’s advanced composites division, PROOF Research ACD.
The carbon fibers that Proof Research use have ability to diffuse heat along the length of the barrel, much like fiber optics transmit light. Carbon fiber also moves heat effectively through the wall of the barrel increasing heat transport resulting in barrels that cool faster, maintain accuracy over longer sessions of fire, and live longer. The end result is an a high fiber content composite barrel that is stronger, lighter, as accurate as the finest precision steel barrel, and durable to perform in the most demanding environments.
