An integral recoil lug machined on the bottom of the base, Rem 700 and HS700, provides a precise fit when bedded to rifle actions, preventing any movement of the base or recoil stress on screws holding the base to the receiver.  A 20 Minute of Angle taper is standard, with a 40 MOA taper offered for Remington 700 bases. Designed for right or left hand actions, our bases will never interfere with loading or extraction.

The greater rigidity and strength of steel make this base particularly well-suited for rifles that generate heavy recoil, see frequent firing, or are used in demanding long-range applications, where an aluminum base might flex or shift over time.

Many X-Treme Duty bases include an integral recoil lug machined into the bottom, which mates snugly with the rifle’s action to help prevent movement under recoil and reduce stress on the mounting screws. Most models come with a 20 MOA taper built into the rail, tilting the front of the base downward to provide more elevation adjustment for long-range shooting. Some rifles, such as certain Remington 700 models, offer a 40 MOA taper option for even greater elevation capability when shooting at extreme distances with a heavily dialed scope.
