Made with bristles sized for .22 caliber barrels, this type of brush is typically constructed from durable materials (such as phosphor bronze wire) that are effective at scrubbing the bore without damaging the rifling. It’s intended to be used with a cleaning rod and solvent: after applying an appropriate bore solvent, the brush is pushed through the barrel to break up and lift fouling, after which patches are run through the bore until they come out clean.
