Description
Viridian RFX1 3 MOA Green Dot Reflex Sight for Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0
The Viridian RFX1 3 MOA Green Dot Reflex Sight for Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 (981-0186) provides a compact, purpose-built optic solution without requiring an optic-ready slide or permanent modification to the pistol. Designed specifically around the Bodyguard 2.0, the RFX1 follows the slide’s contours and serrations for a streamlined fit that maintains the pistol’s compact concealed-carry profile.
Featuring a crisp 3 MOA green dot, automatic brightness adjustment, and Viridian’s INSTANT-ON motion activation, the Viridian RFX1 Green Dot Reflex Sight provides fast, intuitive aiming without requiring the shooter to manually activate the optic before use. The ambient light sensor automatically adjusts reticle brightness according to surrounding conditions.
A machined aluminum housing provides durability while keeping weight to just 0.53 oz. The Viridian RFX1 Green Dot Reflex Sight is shockproof, IPX4 water-resistant, and powered by a CR1632 battery with 30,000+ hours of battery life at middle settings.
Most importantly for Bodyguard 2.0 owners, installation does not require an optic cut or gunsmithing. The included rear sight mounting plate installs using the pistol’s existing factory rear-sight dovetail, providing a dedicated mounting solution for the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0.
Purpose-Built for the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0
Rather than adapting a general-purpose micro optic to the Bodyguard 2.0, the Viridian RFX1 Green Dot Reflex Sight is designed specifically around the pistol’s compact dimensions. Its housing follows the contours and serrations of the slide, creating an integrated appearance while maintaining the slim profile that makes the Bodyguard 2.0 well suited for concealed carry.
No Optic Cut or Gunsmithing Required
One of the Viridian RFX1 Green Dot Reflex Sight’s biggest advantages is its mounting system. The Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 does not need to be optic-ready or have its slide milled to install the RFX1. Installation replaces the factory rear sight using the existing dovetail and included rear sight mounting plate.
This allows Bodyguard 2.0 owners to add a green dot sight without permanently modifying the slide.
3 MOA Green Dot
The Viridian RFX1 Green Dot Reflex Sight features a 3 MOA green dot designed to provide a clear aiming point without unnecessarily obscuring the target. Combined with unlimited eye relief, the compact reflex sight provides fast target acquisition while remaining suitable for more deliberate aiming.
INSTANT-ON® & Automatic Brightness
Viridian’s INSTANT-ON® technology activates the optic when movement is detected, eliminating the need to manually turn the sight on before use. An integrated ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the green dot’s brightness according to surrounding lighting conditions, providing a visible aiming point without requiring constant manual adjustment. The Viridian RFX1 also incorporates a 2-minute auto-off function to help conserve battery life.
