Features

The Apex Predator

Warhawk is Swampfox’s top of the line flagship precision rifle optic. Featuring a 34mm tube encasing premium glass treated with the latest coatings for a truly superior sight picture. With its 5x erector ratio, you have excellent magnification flexibility for a variety of firearm platforms.

Clarity

Warhawk’s 34mm tube, combined with a variety of large objective lenses and the latest in glass and coating technology, provides a versatile, clear and easy to use optic in all lighting conditions and tactical situations.

Diopter and Parallax

Swampfox Warhawk rear diopter keeps the reticle sharp for your eye, parted with the side focus parallax adjustment knob that helps to eliminate accuracy and parallax issues. This keeps the target area in focus no matter what distance you are at.

Zoom Ratio

Warhawk’s considerable eye relief makes this optic and ideal option for even the heaviest recoiling rifles. The 5x magnification ratio and precision optical engineering create flexibility for a scope that is ready to handle any situation where accuracy matters.

What Its Made Of

At the heart, all of Swampfox’s precision optics feature the highest quality mineral infused glass. Swampfox has gone above and beyond with their fully multicoated, anti-fog and hydrophobic lens coatings for each optical lens in the scope, giving peak performance in any weather and lighting conditions.

Optic Body

Warhawk comes standard with 80 tooth looking turret positions for refined and accurate adjustments, making it easier to use the integrated zero reset. This is one of the best and easiest methods for users in different shooting situations with alternating distances.

The Turrets

Warhawk’s wide turrets are easy to manipulate and included at tactile click, so you can count each turret dial by either hearing it or feeling it while looking though the scope. The Sharpshooter MOA Reticle Warhawks use 0.25 MOA per click adjustments, and the Sharpshooter MIL Reticle Warhawks use 0.1 MIL per click adjustments.

RECCE MIL Reticle

RECCE MIL is a ranging and holdover reticle using the Milliradian (MIL or MRAD) mathematical system. With the help of a ballistic calculator or a few basic formulas, you can use RECCE MIL to estimate the range to target, then hit it without adjusting your turrets using the holdover aiming cues.

MEASURE IT WELL

RECCE is short for reconnaissance, the art of observing an area to locate target positions and distances. RECCE MIL features subtensions of .5 MIL increments, along with hash marks sized at 1.0 and 0.4 MIL (or 0.5 and 0.2 MIL if you use the main crosshair as a dividing line). These features combine well with a maximum magnification of 12-15x to provide fast passive ranging ability that is accurate enough to get first round hits on target, without the need for laser rangefinders.

HOLD IT OVER

With range to target established, you can use RECCE MIL’s holdover grid to shift your point of aim, compensating for both bullet drop and wind conditions without ever having to adjust the scope’s 0.1 MIL-per-click target turrets. The holdover grid extends 12 MIL down with precise wind hold dots extending to a maximum of 6 MIL to each side of center.

NEVER WRONG

Due to the optic’s First Focal Plane construction, the measurements or subtensions in RECCE MIL are correct and true at all magnifications. You never have to worry about being at the “wrong” magnification to range estimate or use the holdover grid.

THE BOTTOM LINE

RECCE MIL is compatible with any caliber. As just one example, using a 100 meter zero, RECCE MIL will provide holdovers for a standard .308 Winchester rifle to hit accurately past 900 meters in 15 mph winds.

STANDARD MOA RANGING

In order to range targets or objects with RECCE MIL, use the MIL ranging formula: (Target Size (cm) / Image Size in MIL) x 10 = Range In Meters

In order to obtain an accurate range estimation, you need to know the size of the target in centimeters. Using either vertical or horizontal hash marks, measure the target dimensions in MIL as you view it through the scope. Take the target’s actual size in centimeters, divide it by the observed size in MIL, and multiply that result by 10 to get the range to target in meters.

Example #1: Assuming this combatant is 6 feet [183 cm or 1.83 m) tall, and his body length comprises 4 MIL in your reticle, how far away is he? (183 / 4) x 10 = 458 Meters

USING BASIC HOLDOVERS

Example #2: Assume that you have ranged a target 450 meters away and your ballistic calculator or bullet trajectory chart indicates that the bullet will drop about 3 MIL at 450 meters. If you want to “dial for dope” you can turn the elevation turret up to 3 MIL and fire using the center of the crosshair. However, it is faster to leave the scope zeroed, abandon using the center aiming point, and count 3 MIL down on the crosshair’s hash marks, using the numbers on the right of the dot grid as a quick reference.

Looking through the scope, you will appear to be aiming high of the target. Gravity will push down on the bullet as it flies the 450 meters to hit the target’s center of mass.
